Letter Carriers Food Drive
RSS XML FeedBackground Active Apr 17, 2008 to May 10, 2008

The annual "Stamp Out Hunger" drive plays a critical role in America's effort to aid families in need.  The local partnership between the Letter Carriers, the AFL-CIO, Great Rivers United Way and the local food pantries is a great opportunity to volunteer to assist carriers at collection points around the city of La Crosse.  Locations include the La Crosse Fire House (626 Monitor Street), La Crosse Fire Department (1710 Losey Blvd. South/across from Central High School), and Onalaska Skogens (Sandlake Road).  Volunteers are needed to load donated food into trucks at each drop off site from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m..  You can work the entire afternoon or in one to two hour shifts.  We also need 4-5 relay drivers who can provide their own vehicle to transport donated food items in La Crosse.

You will be asked to transfer food, cans and boxes, from the letter carriers' vehicle into large distribution trucks.  You will be outdoors and you know the slogan - "Rain, snow, sleet or hail will not keep the letter carrier from their rounds".

Sponsored by Great Rivers United Way.
