Volunteer Opportunity Details:

The Georgia Close Up Foundation is seeking an intern for the 2010-2011 academic year. We are looking for self-motivated, dedicated, and outgoing individuals that have a strong interest in civic education and leadership. The intern’s duties will include participation and organization in several youth civic education conferences that will be held throughout the school year. The intern's duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Drafting letters and press releases
• Creating and editing program documents including conference schedules
• Drafting evaluations
• Flyer creation and distribution
• Initiating and maintaining contact with schools
• Attending meetings and conferences
• Updating lists and rosters of participants
• Grant writing and evaluations
• Recruiting volunteer program instructors and providing them with support
• Event planning
  
  

We are looking for an individual with excellent organization skills, who is a self-starter and has an interest in promoting civic engagement among youth in the metro-Atlanta area. The ability to think outside of the box and come up with innovative and creative ideas is a plus.
