Learn To Be An Advocate For People With Disabilities
RSS XML FeedBackground Active Apr 1, 2008 to Apr 30, 2008

Volunteers are trained on how to visit with state legislators during the legislative session at the Capitol in order to ask three basic questions regarding how that legislator learns about disability issues and who the legislator turns to for information about disability issues. It is a very simple and fun process that takes less than 5 minutes, and volunteers get to tell the legislators why disability issues are important to them and the community. A brief training will be provided at the Capitol the morning of the congressional session. It is very simple and most volunteers enjoy the opportunity to meet with Georgia's legislators and talk about the issues facing individuals with disabilities.
