Our 2-1-1 Texas/United Way HELPLINE is the nation's largest call center of its kind, answering more than 575,000 calls for help last year. Our trained call specialists are good listeners, blending understanding and expertise to provide information and referrals drawn from a comprehensive database of social services. 2-1-1 answers the call for help, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in many languages. Resources are extensive and include information about back-to-school and holiday programs, low-income tax preparation, elder services. 2-1-1 also serves as a primary point of contact during times of disaster.
