Thank you for your interest in the H-E-B Feast of Sharing. United Way of Greater Houston is thrilled that we have exceeded our volunteer goal for the 2009 H-E-B Feast of Sharing! Hundreds of enthusiastic volunteers signed up to share their time and talents with the less fortunate in our community this holiday season.

 Although all volunteer positions are currently full, United Way is accepting names for a waiting list. Typically, a few slots open up as we get closer to the event date. If you are interested in being on a waiting list, simply send an e-mail to feastofsharing@unitedwayhouston.org . You will receive an e-mail from United Way if a volunteer opportunity becomes available.

 Registration is limited to adults and children over the age of 14 (Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult and will not be allowed to work in food service areas).

 Volunteer roles include serving line, children's area, greeter, drink server, waiter, busser, guest advocate, and pie server. Please keep in mind that some volunteer roles will require physical activity, like walking, serving and carrying light loads.

 All shifts are on the day of the event - December 13, 2009. Due to limited parking at the George R. Brown Convention Center, all volunteers must park (free of charge) and check-in at the United Way Center. Shuttle buses will transport volunteers to and from the convention center every 15 minutes. If you register for shift #1 from 11:30 - 3:00 p.m. please report to the United Way Center at 11:30 p.m. If you register for shift #2 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. please report to the United Way Center at 2:00 p.m. If you register for shift #3 (includes clean-up) from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. please report to the United Way Center at 3:00 p.m.

 If you were not able to volunteer, we hope you'll join us at the George R. Brown Convention Center on Sunday, December 13 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., for a festive holiday meal and lots of fun.
