Description: Vicky's Pet Connection is a growing non-profit organization in Kent County. Our mission is to rescue and recycle unwanted pets and to emphasize low/no cost spays and neuters in an effort to help control pet overpopulation. Every dog and cat that passes through VPC is sterilized before placement. We are a "no kill" organization working and we rely on foster homes to care for the animals that come into our program. We have no paid staff and no facilities so all donations go directly to the animals. The pets are given medical attention, grooming and manner lessons if need be.
History: Vicky's Pet Connection placed their first animal in early 1998. After two generous donors became aware of our efforts, they funded an attorney who could file for 501c3 status and we began our official work as Vicky's Pet Connection. While working closely with the Kent County Animal Shelter as well as area veterinarians, together we are making an impact on pet overpopulation in Kent County. Last year we spayed or neutered 1,650 animals. In 2003 we placed 1,150 animals into loving, permanent homes. Since Vicky's Pet Connection's inception, we've placed around 5,500 cats/kittens and dogs/puppies into forever homes.
