Volunteer Opportunity Details:

The Daytime Shelter Aide position is an excellent opportunity to assist the staff at our confidential emergency shelter as they serve abused women and their children in a safe and comforting environment. The volunteer who fills this position will staff the front desk area of the house, answering phones, assisting residents with needed items, interacting with the children and much more. These volunteers are vital to keeping the house running smoothly as they partner with the Shelter Manager and Family Advocates in working to help families who are fleeing abusive situations.

The training requirement for this volunteer opportunity is a basic volunteer training which runs in 4 sessions (10 hours total)with additional one-on-one training and shadowing at the shelter after basic training is complete. Because of the nature of the emergency shelter, this particular opportunity is limited to female volunteers over the age of 18.
