As of the 2008 tax season we are expanding our outreach to the Lowell and Rockford/Sparta areas in order to serve more clients. Volunteers are an instrumental part of how we serve our community. If you are interested in serving our community, or have always wanted to but have not been able to commute to other sites, volunteer today at this new tax site. Help make West Michigan a better place!
The only qualification that we require of our volunteers is a willingness to help! Previous tax knowledge is helpful, but is not required. Also basic computer knowledge is a plus. Twenty hours of IRS training and self-study training materials are provided. There will also be on-site help if problems arise. Adequate training is always provided!
This is an excellent opportunity for Accounting college students to gain a work-study experience or service learning credits!
If you belong to any kind of social organization this would be a wonderful opportunity to volunteer as a group!
Volunteers are required to take a one week tax preparation class and be certified by the IRS at the end of the training. After the certification we ask that you volunteer at your site selection for at least 3 - 4 hours a week.  This opportunity is sponsored by: Kent County Tax Credit Coalition
