Provide much needed support to a hospice patient and to overwhelmed family caregivers by helping with home and/or yard chores. Weekly duties may include helping with laundry, vacuuming, dusting, or general cleaning in the home. Yard duties may include mowing a lawn or garden weeding. Time commitment of 1 - 2 hours per week. Bi-lingual volunteers are encouraged. Volunteers especially needed in Grand Rapids, Rockford, Cedar Springs, Greenville, Caledonia, Lowell and Wayland areas. Note: Volunteers are asked to wait one year after the death of a family member or friend before volunteering
Hospice volunteer training provided. Once trained, ongoing in-services are provided for support and skill development. The next Volunteer Orientation Training in Grand Rapids will be on Jan 12, 19, 26, Feb 2 and 9, from 6 pm - 9 pm. Contact us to receive more information and an application packet.
