Overall Experience

It kept me from being depressed, then it led to employment
 |
I volunteered at an agency which had a food pantry and family support programs, first in childcare, then reception and additional clerical. Volunteering helped to keep me from being depressed over my job loss, kept me confident and feeling valued and cheered by being around other positive people. I was able to keep my clerical skills honed, learn more computer funtions, and practice at being a receptionist. People who saw me working at the agency appreciated my skills and personality and hired me as their Administrative Assistant full time. I love helping others every day in this support position. I don't miss my factory job! posted by shareall on October 19, 2007 |
