The purpose of the Camp Counselor position is to enhance the camper’s experience. They are role models, answer questions, assist the staff and most of all, help the kids to have a great time! The Art Center's summer arts camp, "Crossing Cultures" is for children ages 8-12 who reside in the Grandville Avenue neighborhood. The camp is from August 3-14 and runs from 9am-3:30pm. The Camp Counselor is responsible for a group of about 12 students and guides them throughout the day to different classes and through lunch and break times. The Counselor also assists the lead artists/instructors in each class (clay, dance, theatre, art, and music) and can participate in the camp's art festival at the end of camp. Must be at least 16 years old and be able to be present for the entire camp. A love and passion for the arts is also important. Must also enjoy working with younger children. An orientation explaining responsibilities and duties will be given in July prior to the camp. This is a great opportunity for anyone who loves to work with kids and encourage creativity through the arts! This opportunity is sponsored by: Cook Arts Center, Formerly The Grandville Avenue Academy For The Arts
