Develop one-on-one friendship with a youth and encourage social and emotional growth by engaging in fun, beneficial activities. Mentors are matched with children of incarcerated parents or with children of ex-offenders who have returned to the community. Criminal Justice Chaplaincy is also seeking individual interested in mentoring adults who have been in the criminal justice system. Mentors must be at least 18 years of age, complete a written application, have an interview, and go through a criminal history check. Mentors and the mentee get together weekly or bi-weekly at a time and place that is mutually convenient for at least 9 months. Training is provided by Mentor Coordination Network and additional training on the criminal justice system is provided by the CJC.
