Volunteering at The Equest Center is a hands on experience for those who have never been around horses to those who have been around them all of their lives. All training is provided for our volunteers to work in our barn readying horses for classes and assisting in the riding arena during our therapy classes. We service our mentally and physically challenged riders using the horse as a catalyst. Our volunteers help leading the horses and assisting as a side walker for those who may need a helping hand. All training is provided. We do hold monthly volunteer orientations, though attending on is not mandatory to begin volunteering. We have a great volunteer team that is always willing to help new volunteers.  This opportunity is sponsored by: Equest Center for Therapeutic Riding Inc.

Overall Experience
It has made me realize what a true passion for something is.

By volunteering at Equest I have learned so much about the people that work, voluenteer and have classes there, I have also learned about the horses. This is a place that works hard for a good cause the volunteers and staff put so much time and effort into this program. They have all taught me what a true passion for something is. And that is different for everybody. For me it is being with the people and helping out for a good cause and dedicating more time to that then anything else like t.v or video games and other things.

This is the best thing I have ever done in my entire life!

Everyone there is so nice! The horses are frendly, and so are the people. It is a great way to make new friends, and gain knowledge on horses. If you love horses and love little kids, and helping others this is the volunteer job for you. I will volunteer here as long as I can! I can't wait, each week for the day I volunteer!
