It's also important to our residents. Unfortunately, some of our residents need assistance in getting from their rooms to our weekly Vespers service and then back again. We are looking for able-bodied volunteers to support our staff in helping to transport our wheelchair bound residents to Vespers service on Sunday afternoons. No driving is involved - it is all in-house. Volunteers would be needed between 3:30 - 4:30 PM on Sunday afternoons. It is not necessary for volunteers to sit with a resident and attend Vespers, however, they are certainly welcome to join us. Volunteers may stay in the Lobby area outside of Vespers and use the time to read, do homework, knit, or complete a crossword puzzle.
An orientation and brief training will be provided on-site by unit staff. A TB test, or proof of recent test, is required. This is offered at no cost to volunteers through our Residential Health Office. This opportunity is sponsored by: Porter Hills Village
