Lincoln School has 175 students with physical and cognitive impairments. We would like your help as a volunteer at the school. Volunteer activities could include: tutoring, helping in the classrooms and with activities such as library/media room, pre-vocational room, life-skills, pool, gym, etc. Volunteers are also welcome to help with special activities like Field Day, Holiday Program, monthly assemblies, etc. We are also in need of donations. Some ideas are: Activity books/Crayons Art Supplies BABY WIPES are needed for daily use. Bath Towels Beach Towels (pool use) Bean Bag Chairs (adult and child) Bibs Board Games (young children) Cardboard Puzzles (10-12 piece) (24-60 piece) (50-100 piece) Children's Bike Helmets Children's Books with Tape (read along) Children's Card Games Children's CDs and Tapes Children's Toy Tools Children's Videos/DVDs ie. Disney or Barney, rated G Deodorant Disposable Cameras Dolls (multi-cultural) Educational Toys Electronic Musical Toys FACIAL TISSUE Food Processor (small) Gift Certificates

We also accept gently used items. Lincoln School purchases food through Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank, Second Harvest Gleaner's. The food is purchased at a very low cost and is used to supplement our students diets and help students learn to cook in our Life Skills classroom. Any individuals or groups that wish to volunteer on more than one occasion, at Lincoln School would need to complete a volunteer application that includes a criminal history and attend a volunteer training. The volunteers could include: school groups, youth groups, church groups, businesses, families, or anyone else who wishes to help out. There are no limitations on who may volunteer.
