Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on October 14, 2009 |
We need volunteers to prepare taxes for low-moderate income individuals and families. It is only with the help of our volunteers that we can make our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites successful. We ask that all potential volunteers can commit their time from January - April(the tax season), approximately four hours a week. Training will be provided. KCTCC works with our volunteers and our community by placing sites throughout Kent County. The only qualifications that we require of our volunteers is a willingness to help! Previous tax knowledge is helpful, but is not required. Also basic computer knowledge is a plus. Twenty hours of IRS training and Self-Study training materials are provided. There will also be on-site help if problems arise. Adequate training is always provided! This is an excellent opportunity for Accounting college students to gain a work-study experience or service learning credits! If you belong to any kind of social organization this would be a wonderful opportunity to volunteer as a group!
