We are looking for volunteers to tutors young children in language skills. Volunteers will work with the same student throughout their lessons at the Center and provide each student with 2 hours of instruction weekly. All volunteers will be thoroughly trained and have a program coordinator on site and available to help them with any questions. Here is what a parent of one of our students wrote: I used to have to push my son out of the car to go to school in the morning and spend hours at night doing homework with him, now he has A's in 5 out of 6 classes and he does his homework by himself. He is enjoying school. Volunteers must have a high school diploma or GED and participate in a 30 hour training course for the program. On going training will be held throughout the calender year This opportunity is sponsored by: Specialized Language Development (SLD) Center
