Sandra Springer, 58, of Grand Rapids has been a loyal volunteer ombudsman with CBC for over a year.  As an ombudsman she work with residents, their family members and caregivers, making sure the facilities are operating properly and staff are watching out for those entrusted to them.

"I became a volunteer because it's the right thing to do.  The world becomes a better place when we realize that every one of us can do something to help someone,"  said Springer.
