On Saturday, May 9, the National Association of Letter Carriers in partnership with the USPS and the Heart of West Michigan United Way will be having their annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive to benefit Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank, formerly Second Harvest Gleaners. Volunteers are needed between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to unload the food from the letter carriers trucks onto semi trucks that will be located at 7 different post offices in Kent County.
Post office sites that will participate: Grand Rapids downtown at 225 Michigan St. NW, Grand Rapids Northeast at 1765 3 Mile Rd. NE, Grand Rapids Northwest at 1625 Walker Ave, NW, Grand Rapids Eastown at 1451 Lake Dr. SE, Grand Rapids East Paris 3970 S. Greenbrooke Dr. SE, Wyoming Post Office at 2929 Michael Ave. SW, Kentwood Post Office at 1680 44th St. SE.
