Be an After-school Activities Assistant

Do you want to make a difference in the life of a child? Camp Fire USA is currently recruiting volunteers to assist with our after-school programs at eight sites in the Grand Rapids community. The after-school program is designed to fill the gap between the end of the child's school day and the end of the parents' work day.
Housed in Grand Rapids Public Schools and one housing complex, our after-school program gives children an alternative to risky behaviors by offering academic and enrichment activites, such as tutoring, arts and crafts, dance, photography, and reading. Volunteers play an important role in the success of our after-school program by assisting staff with a variety of different projects and activities for elementary and middle school-aged children and youth.
All volunteers must: enjoy working with children/youth, be responsible, on-time and committed, attend a brief volunteer training/orientation, have transportation to and from the program site, and most of all be willing to have fun! The after-school program takes place Monday through Friday (start and end times vary by site). The time commitment is flexible and we will work around volunteers' schedules.
