Shelter House inc., is a charitable, non-profit orginization united with the community to promote safe homes and communities by providing safety, support, and skills to those affected by domestic abuse.

Our over all vision is to have a united community where all people are safe.

History:
Shelter House is celebrating our 30th year serving victims and survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault. We began our services at Woodland Centers using safe homes, then made the transition to a shelter environment at various locations in willmar. 2 years ago Shelter House board of directors approved a building project that houses 16 beds, Programs include Domestic Violence, Sexual Assualt, Project Impact(youth programs), Hispanic outreach and support groups. We are the only shelter in 18 counties of South West Minnesota. We primarily serve Kandiyohi, Renville, Chippewa, Lac qui Parle and Swift counties. We also provide some services in Meeker and Mcleod counites.
