Arc Kandiyohi County is an agency that supports and advocates for persons with developmental disabilities and their families. Arc Kandiyohi County strives to have people with developmental disabilities live, work, and play in their community as independant as possible.

Description:
Arc's purpose is to ensure full participation of people with developmental disabilities in the community by promoting a system of support and self-sufficiency for people with developmental disabilities and their families by advocating for their rights. Some of our programs like People First, teaches people to be good self-advocates and to let them know they have a right to be heard. Arc provides ongoing training for parents to learn more about issues that effect their children with disabilities.

History:
Arc Kandiyohi County started in 1957 with a few families getting together over coffee, and discussing the issues about their children that had developmental disabilities. Our chapter is one of 15 chapters in Minnesota. Arc Kandiyohi County is affilated with The Arc of Minnesota and The Arc (National). Arc Kandiyohi County advocates for more than 525 people in this county alone to recieve services they need.
