The Willmar Community Senior Network, a Living At Home/Block Nurse Program needs volunteers to provide light housekeeping assistance, help with household chores, or food preparation for the elderly (65+)of the Willmar area. These are often weekly requests that may involve 2-5 tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, changing sheets/making beds, cleaning a bathroom, a floor or a refrigerator, cooking an easy meal, or doing some laundry, etc. It could involve 1-2 or more hours. Volunteers may need to bend, lift, get down on the floor, or reach up to replace light bulbs, etc. Supplies and vacuums provided by the household. Please make an appointment to meet the staff and to pick-up a Volunteer Application Form from our office (Call 320-214-7140). Volunteers need the skills, strength, agility, and enthusiasm to carry out such household chores. If someone has more questions about the skills involved, information is available, including alternative techniques if assisting a blind person.
