Elders in nursing and assisted living facilities need your advocacy to assure their rights, quality of care and of life living in these settings.
Certified Ombudsman Volunteer Representatives make a difference in individual lives by visiting a facility weekly and offering support, empowerment and representation through advocacy. The Office of Long-Term Care Ombudsman provides training and support for individuals interested giving of their time to work with individuals and resident councils in facilities.

All candidates are required to complete an application, screening, interview and successfully complete a 30-hour training program.
Some local travel is required as well as meetings held in Concord, NH. Mileage is reimbursed at the Federal IRS rate.
