Position Summary:
How would you like to use your video editing skills to help our non-profit grow and show others what we do? Our Video Editor will take existing video footage and weave it together to tell the story of our organization to be posted on our website, YouTube and used at fundraising and marketing events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*Edit one short five minute video which highlights one of the Brazilian groups that we help sustain by marketing their unique products globally (Couro Ecologico http://endruralpoverty.org/couro ).
*Select footage that is appropriate to the narration and replace some of the footage of the original.
*Dub in the narration sound track.
*Create another short video about our organization as a whole based on previous footage.
*Once these projects are done, there is considerable opportunity to spearhead the creation of other short videos.
This is a "virtual" team opportunity which you may perform from your home or other location, although we would prefer the candidate to be located in Western Washington.
Community Empowerment Network's (CEN’s) operations are nearly entirely driven by the efforts of volunteers (the only exception is our Field Manager in Santarém, Brazil, who is paid under contract). Our staffing model is similar to that used by the Open Source development community. We have several (currently eight) Working Groups, each with its own lead who manages a number of Project Leads. These Project Leads are responsible for building and managing teams of volunteers to execute specific projects. We’re a small organization and so lines of responsibility become a little blurred at times, but this provides a terrific opportunity to take on a variety of responsibilities and to expand your skills.
