Wednesday through Sunday plus holidays. Daytime Observatory Deck Volunteers have the unique opportunity of introducing the sunlit sky as well as spectacular 8", 20" and 36" telescopes to student groups and visitors. Volunteers will share the history of Chabot's telescopes and how they are used,offer tours and lead or assist with daytime observing of the sun, moon and planets.
Volunteers must be outgoing, have an interest in working with various age groups and enjoy speaking and interacting with the public.
Astronomy background and/or willingness to learn about the sun and telescopes. Training provided. Please RSVP for our next adult orientation on our website.
