Agency Details:
RAMP
To promote an accessible society that allows and expects full participation by people with disabilities.
Description:
RAMP is a passionate partner for people with disabilities desiring to live a useful and rewarding life. We empower people with disabilities to realize there are no limits to what they can do. We accomplish this by assisting them to live independently, make changes in their own lives, seek peer support, obtain resources and remove barriers that threaten their dreams of independence. We advocate for the implementation of current laws, promotion of needed legislation and improvement of existing systems for people with disabilities while working to diminish negative attitudes that threaten to impede equal access.
History:
RAMP was established in 1980 as a non-profit, non-residential Center for Independent Living. RAMP serves and advocates for people with disabilities from four offices located in DeKalb, Boone, Winnebago and Stephenson Counties.
