Agency Details:
Susquehanna Valley Pregnancy Services
Susquehanna Valley Pregnancy Services exists to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and uphold the sanctity of human life through sexual integrity education, unplanned pregnancy intervention, and post-abortion restoration.
Description:
Susquehanna Valley Pregnancy Services provides pregnancy tests, confidential counseling and education for pregnancy options (parenting, adoption and abortion), limited medical services, prenatal education, referrals for community services and medical care, relationship counseling in the context of pregnancy and parenting, material assistance, sexual integrity education, and post-abortion counseling. SVPS does not perform or refer for abortions, believing that all life is precious and having seen through post-abortion counseling that abortion wounds women and men. Healing after an abortion is offered through one-on-one and group Bible studies.
History:
SVPS began as the Lebanon Pregnancy Center in 1985, when five Christian homemakers wanted to offer practical help to women with unplanned pregnancies so they could choose life for their babies and spare themselves from the after effects of an abortion decision. In 1991, we added the Lancaster Pregnancy Center. In 1998 we opened the Ephrata Pregnancy Center. In 2002 we opened the Columbia Pregnancy Center. In 2001 and 2006 we added limited medical services to our Lancaster and Lebanon locations, respectively.
