The Arc of Lancaster County supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities of all ages, and their families in reaching their fullest potential as interdependent community Members.
Description:
The Arc of Lancaster County provides individual advocacy, educational advocacy, systems advocacy and legislative advocacy. In addition we offer a sibling support group, community education and educational seminars for individuals with disabilities and their families. We also have a contract with Lancaster County Mental Health/Mental Retardation for Independent Monitoring 4 Quality.
History:
The Arc of Lancaster County was created in 1962 by a group of parents who wanted to change how society accepted their family members with mental retardation/developmental disabilities.
