The Museum of Indian Culture is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to presenting, preserving, and perpetuating the history and cultural heritage of the Northeast Woodland Indians and other Native American Tribes. The Museum accomplishes this mission through educational programs and exhibits, cultural heritage and awareness programs, a comprehensive Native American resource center and special events.

Description:
The Museum of Indian Culture has been serving the Lehigh Valley community and beyond for the past 27 years. It is the oldest Native American museum in Pennsylvania and is operated almost completely on a volunteer basis. Each year, our educators visit more than 150 schools and businesses, sharing the culture of our country’s First Nations through our off-site programs. The museum operates the largest Native American centered library and resource center in the Commonwealth. Thousands of people attend three festivals on the museum’s grounds each year and are pleased to find not only native people in traditional regalia and authentic Native American drumming, but lifeways demonstrations including flint knapping and native cookery, an artifact display and a teaching tipi. Many more visit the museum to learn about the indigenous people of the Eastern Woodlands and attend our craft workshops in which they learn the techniques of quillwork, beadwork, moccasin-making and gourd basketry. The Museum of Indian Culture is an appealing venue providing interactive, hands-on, and regionally unique learning experiences centering on the life ways of the Lenape and other Native Americans.
