Community Exchange's mission is to invite all people in the community to join in a supportive, reciprocal network where all members are respected and valued for their time and talents. Through the sharing of our needs and gifts, we sustain a member-driven community exchange where everyone can be a contributor, turning "You need me" into "We need each other."

Description:
Community Exchange is a project of Lehigh Valley Hospital and is funded by the Dorothy Rider Pool Health Care Trust.

CE began a Time Bank Service Exchange as an affiliate of Time Banks USA TM in 1999 to serve individuals in the Lehigh Valley.

Since then, CE has experienced growth of a diverse membership. We currently have over 450 individual members and over 20 member organizations and businesses in CE.

The Time Banking system that CE uses is a system of trading services between individuals, organizations and businesses. For every hour of service provided to another member of the Time Bank a Time $ is earned and added to your Time Bank account. When you are in need of a service you access a member from the directory and use your time dollars to pay for the service. 1 Hour of Service always equal 1 Time $. For example, providing one hour of web design to a CE member can allow you to receive one hour of help painting your store front.
