Description:
HADC is a nonprofit organization that develops affordable housing through new construction and renovation and pursues neighborhood revitalization. The construction and rehab work is performed by HADC's own crew of builders, most of whom are neighborhood residents who joined HADC's payroll with few job skills. Crew members receive full-time wages and benefits while receiving on-the-job training. Projects involving community development work include the creation of neighborhood recreation space, formation of a residents association and other initiatives.

HADC's office is in the middle of the 500 block of Chew Street in central Allentown. Chew Street is three blocks north of Hamilton Street, Allentown's main commercial street. The 500 block of Chew is between Fifth and Sixth streets.   Nearest Bus Stop: 6th and Linden streets, 5 minute walk
