Visual Impairment & Blindness Services addresses the needs of its community by providing quality specialized services and opportunities designed to prevent, prepare for, and manage loss of vision in an effort to maintain and improve the quality of life.

Description:
The agency services blind and visually impaired residents of Northampton County, City of Bethlehem, and Monroe County. There are four Programs and Services for blind and visually impaired consumers.
Client Services provides in-home assistance, escorted transportation to essential appointments, life skills training, support group and client activity group, and
computer training. Low Vision Services assists people with specialized examinations by an optometrist to determine what low vision aids will help them use their remaining sight. The Eye Care Clinic helps low income and working poor families with eye examinations and corrective lenses. Prevention of Blindness Programs provide free vision screenings for children and adults and community outreach programs about eye health and eye safety. Sensitivity training for workers who deal with the blind and visually impaired in all sorts of settings.
