The Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired strives to be our community's foremost provider and coordinator of preventive, educational, social, and rehabilitative programs concerning vision loss. Our goal is to assist each individual and his/her family to achieve their greatest potential.

Description:
Founded in 1928, as the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, (ABVI) strives to be the area's foremost provider of preventive rehabilitation and social services concerning vision loss.
Through a comprehensive case management system, individuals learn ways of coping with and compensating for the loss of vision. Through a personalized approach, staff members encourage, instruct and develop client skills and attitudes that are crucial for maintaining a lifestyle of maximized independence and dignity. Rehabilitation services provide a wide range or training resulting in adaptive living and self-help skills. Readjustment counseling services assist customers in making the adjustment to vision loss. All services are provided regardless of an individual's ability to pay.
