Hawk Mountain Sanctuary

| Last updated on September 26, 2008 |
Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is a 2225 acre refuge for birds of prey and other wildlife, with 8 miles of hiking trails and a native plant garden. Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is open all year, but is most famous for its fall raptor migration where 16 species of birds can be seen. Education programs are presented on weekends in spring and fall.
The mission of the sanctuary is to conserve birds of prey worldwide by providing leadership in raptor conservation science and education, and by maintaining Hawk Mountain Sanctuary as a model observation, research, and education facility.

Overall Experience
We are heros for this non-profit organaization and we are made to feel that way.
| I have gained more insight about raptors, the environment, and people. Everything I have been asked to do is within my range of expertise and has been so appreciated that the good feeling stays with me for a couple of days. posted on February 20, 2008 |
