Description:
MCCDC carries out its work in several ways: As a Workforce Intermediary, MCCDC increases household income through demand industry led transitional employment, job training, career advancement, and micro-enterprise support; As a Community Assets Builder, MCCDC helps constituents establish and improve credit worthiness through financial literacy and management training; facilitate saving through IDAs; and acquire real property and small businesses. As an Economic Development Catalyst, MCCDC seeks opportunities to develop social enterprises. As a Community Economic Development Expert, MCCDC provides targeted technical assistance, consultation, and fiscal management. In recent years, the MCCDC has regained its stature with nonprofit, county and workforce representatives in Marin and the Bay Area. The MCCDC is currently capitalizing on the expertise and experience of its current executive director, board, staff, and key selected partners, and is assuming a leadership role in workforce development in the renewable energy/ green and healthcare industries.
History:
Celebrating 30 years of excellence, the Marin City Community Development Corporation (MCCDC) remains an important contributor in the Marin City Community, and the region at large. It has and continues to be the lead organization in the area of economic and workforce development and is a major proponent regionally in advancing industry demand driven employment and career opportunities for Marin residents. MCCDC's work is carried out through a number of strategic partnerships with industry, government groups, community colleges, and other community based organizations in Marin City and the Bay Area.
