Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Looking for volunteers, health professionals and non-health professionals, who live in the North Worcester County area to come join us to help in an emergency event related to a weather event, a human caused event or a communicable disease outbreak and in non-emergency events such as community educational programs on health or emergency preparedness. We are setting up volunteer committees in each community to help in their own community to provide opportunities to share information on various health topics and on emergency preparedness. There are two levels of participation. You can become active in planning or assisting at community health events or you can be dormant and willing to help as you can. We will work with you to meet your skills and meet your schedule.

There are 3 requirements. 1) Complete the database information and other registration information. 2) Make family plan for emergency preparedness. We recommend a FEMA online course IS-22 or check with Red Cross for information. A link is provided on our website. 3) Complete IS-100 and NIMS-700. This is information on the command system that is activated whenever their is an emergency event that the MRC may participate in. A link on our website is provided and information is provided in your welcome pack.
