Inn at Village Square

Avesta Housing is a community-based, private, non-profit Maine agency established in 1972. It's mission is to promote and provide housing opportunities for Southern Maine people in need.

Avesta Housing opened the Inn at Village Square in Gorham in 1999 to help fill the need for affordable Assisted Living opportunities for the elderly who were no longer able to continue to live independently without assistance.

Description:
The Inn at Village Square, located in Gorham, Maine, is an Assisted Living - Residential Care facility licensed for 37 residents.

In addition to providing a safe and comforting environment with many amenities, the Inn provides the following services: 24-hour RN supervised health services staffing; medication administration; assistance with personal care needs; resident call system; three meals served daily; housekeeping and laundry service; activities program; transportation to medical appointments; exercise program; and a respite care program.

The Inn at Village Square accepts both Private Pay and MaineCare residents that are age 62 and older. The average age of our residents is 85.

Two of our rooms/studios are for couples; all other rooms/studios are single occupancy, each with private bathroom and "tea kitchen".

History:
Avesta Housing is an organization devoted to creating and preserving housing options for the benefit of people in need. Consequently, all of it's activities during the past 33 years have been focused on housing and housing related programs. Since 1972, Avesta Housing has developed over 1500 units of affordable housing in Maine, has provided housing services to more than 7,000 households and manages over 900 units of housing. In 1999, Avesta opened the Inn at Village Square which serves a housing and service need to the elderly who are no longer able to safely live independently without assistance.
