Family Focus

Family Focus is committed to providing affordable community-based services for families with children in the Mid-Coast area. These services include early care & education at our 2 early learning centers in Bath and Brunswick, before and after school care in the SAD#75 school district,and the Parent Program offering parent support and education.

Description:
Family Focus has 2 early learning centers serving 50 children (infants through start of Kindergarten)at 2 Davenport Circle, Bath and 44 Water St., Brunswick and 4 programs serving school aged children located within the schools in Harpswell, Topsham, and Bowdoinham. During the summer months we have a program at the Williams Cone School in Topsham.

The Parent Program includes home visiting for families needing support in parenting, child development education, parenting strategies, and community resource information for children 0-8 years old. Family Focus Business Office staff manage the Food Program which provide assistance to child care providers through a Federal food program. In cooperation with DHHS, we provide direct child care services. Families may apply for subsidized child care and pay on a sliding fee scale.

History:
Family Focus was established in 1985 to provide childcare to families in Bath, Brunswick and surrounding towns along with sponsorship of homes on the Child Care Food Program. In 1986 the Parent Program was developed and as requested from United Way school age care was added and in the late 90's Voucher Management.
