The 6th Annual Courage to Speak Empowering Youth to be Drug Free Family Night and Media Event will use the power of engaging home, school and community to save young lives by empowering youth to be drug free. Last year over 450 students, parents, teachers, school and government officials and business and community leaders attended this event to celebrate the commitment of students who participated in the Courage to Speak Drug Prevention Curricula in their schools to avoid drugs and be advocates with their younger siblings and friends. The evening features students who participated in the Courage to Speak Curriculum in their schools speaking out and reading messages and the nationally renowned Courage To Speak Presentation, delivered by Courage to Speak Founder, Ginger Katz. The event includes a raffle and is marketed for 5 months in promotion via newspaper, cable TV, radio, email, letters and flyers that reach approximately 80,000 Norwalk residents as well as surrounding communities in Fairfield County CT and Westchester County NY. Proceeds will help the Courage to Speak Foundation continue to offer our Courage to Speak Drug Prevention Education Curricula for elementary, middle and high school and our new free course Courage to Speak-Courageous Parenting 101 designed so parents can understand what their children are facing. Our website, referral help-line, support groups and Annual Family Night initiatives are dedicated to fulfilling our mission: Saving young lives by empowering youth to be drug free and encouraging parents to communicate effectively about the dangers of drugs. This opportunity is sponsored by: The Courage To Speak Foundation, Inc.
