Adopt-a-Homeless Child for Back-to-School Youth Success

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on October 30, 2009

Family HomeStead is in need of donors to help homeless children begin the 2010-2011 school year adequately clothed and ready to learn. Donors provide new school clothing and supplies for homeless children whose families are participating in Family HomeStead's emergency or transitional housing programs. Volunteers do not actually meet the child or children involved but do receive printed information that will enable them to shop. At the conclusion of the project, donors will receive a thank-you note from Family HomeStead for tax purposes and a thank-you note from the client family.

School starts mid-August in Denver and Jefferson County where our client children attend school. This is a great project for corporate, service, faith-based groups or for individual families to make a difference in the life of a child.

Contact Judy Mugler at Family HomeStead immediately if you would like to participate. Office phone number is 303-623-6514. Donors must be able to meet specific delivery dates for their gift items and must have transportation to deliver donated items to the Family HomeStead office between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. New clothing and supplies only, please.
