Fabian's Emergency Drop In Center
RSS XML FeedBackground Active Nov 21, 2003 to Jan 21, 2004

Fabian's Emergency Drop-in Center will enable people who  might otherwise spend the night on the streets the ability to stay indoors when temperatures drop below 25 degrees or other svere weather conditions, such as a severe snowstorm, a hurricane, or severe thunderstorms that threaten the community.

Volunteer staff would evaluate the weather conditions that are being predicted and determine whether the doors to the drop-in center would open for the night.  Volunteers will also staff the center, located at Holy Trinity Church on Main Street in Middletown from 10p.m.-8a.m. while individuals come in from the cold to eat, play cards, watch television, read, socialize or rest.

Volunteers must be over 18 years of age and are required to attend training sessions at a Middletown location.  Volunteers are expected to be prepared to work a full shift but can plan their schedule several weeks in advance.

Please contact Sue at crankystella@aol.com for additional information.  If you do not have email access you may contact Allison Grady at 860-346-8695.
