Adoption and Foster Care Mentoring

AFC Mentoring empowers foster and adopted youth to flourish through committed mentoring relationships.

Description:
As the only mentoring program that specifically targets foster and adopted youth, AFC Mentoring is dedicated to building positive relationships among adults with youth who have experience in foster care or who have been recently adopted. Our goal is to create long-lasting, consistent relationships which encourage youth to define and achieve their own personal success. We believe that our mentors can create a consistent and stable influence that can help a young person succeed in life.

Mentoring with AFC is a great chance for mentors to have fun and make a difference in their community! It can open the doors to many new opportunities for them and their mentee. AFC has sent matches to Red Sox games, Celtics games, museums, the zoo and many more events!

History:
J. Justin Pasquariello is the founder and past Executive Director of AFC Mentoring. Justin grew up in the foster care system, not finding a permanent home until he was adopted by his third foster family.
During his college years at Harvard, Justin began mentoring and realized the need for a program that specifically catered to foster and adopted youth.
With this in mind, Justin founded AFC Mentoring in 2001 with the goal of providing stable, loving, and responsible mentors to foster youth and those adopted out of foster care, who desperately need consistency and support to avoid destructive behaviors.
