The sale is held at the Arlington Boys & Girls Club in Arlington. You can MapQuest it at 60 Pond Lane. You can walk the bike path to the Club from the Alewife T station in about fifteen minutes. Alternatively, you can take the Mass Av. bus from Harvard Square to Arlington Center and the Club is a five minute walk from there.
The sale runs this year from December 5 either until Christmas Eve or until all 1600 trees sell out. For the last seven years, the latter has been the case. The sale runs seven days per week from 9am to 8pm. But by far, the weekends are the busiest and this year the two busiest weekends will be 12/5&6 and 12/12 &13.
Duties include unwrapping the trees (they come individually netted and this netting needs to be removed in order to show off the tree), holding them up for customer review, carrying the trees out to the prep area (where we make fresh cuts to the ends and make the financial transaction) and carrying the trees to cars and tying them to the roof. Ideally, two-person teams are the best as it makes light work for both.
