CASA of Santa Barbara County is ALWAYS accepting applications for volunteer advocates. The Mission of Court Appointed Special Advocates of Santa Barbara County (CASA) is to assure a safe, permanent, nurturing home for every abused and/or neglected child by providing a highly trained volunteer to advocate for them in the court system. You can be one of the hero's who speak up in court to advocate for the best interests of a child who has been removed from his/her home for their protection. With over 100 children on a waiting list for a CASA, we need you! We will provide all of the training and support you will need to be an effective advocate, and help to change the course of a child's life. Please call us, we look forward to talking to you.
Volunteers must be 21 years old. We are required to do a background check and fingerprint check,(at our expense) and we conduct a 30 hour state mandated training program, which we offer several timers per year at no charge to the volunteer. After training, each advocate is asked to do 12 hours of continuing education annually, and we help with this as well - or you can read related materials, watch videos, etc. This opportunity is sponsored by: CASA Of Santa Barbara County
