Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Counselors In Training serve as instructors for pre and post kindergarteners, teaching daily safety lessons, reinforcing concepts, and assisting as needed during Safety Town. Safety Town is a one week safety education program offered every summer. Children learn about fire, earthquake, water, pedestrian, bicycle, and personal safety. CITs volunteer for about 4 1/2 hr. daily, M-F, for weekly sessions, and earn community service hours.

Students entering 7th grade or above are eligible to apply. Applicants should enjoy working with children, be responsible, and team players. Volunteers must attend a mandatory two hour orientation prior to volunteering at a session, and must work all five days of the week.
