Volunteer Opportunity Details:

We need 15 volunteers in November to call Garden members to survey reasons why they have allowed memberships to lapse. Many times the member has misplaced or forgotten their renewal and is delighted to renew on the spot, or sign up for automatic renewal. The information gleaned from the survey gives us tools to better serve our membership base.

Needs a people person who enjoys making calls and engaging the member in conversation, with a basic script to follow. Calls can be made from home or at the Garden.

Directions From the South: Take U.S. Hwy 101 north to the Mission Street exit. Turn right (toward the hills) at the off-ramp stop light. From the North: Take U.S. Hwy 101 south to the Mission Street exit. Turn left (toward the hills) at the off-ramp stop light. Proceed on Mission Street to Santa Barbara Street. - Look for the brown and white "Botanic Garden" signs. - Turn left onto Santa Barbara Street, proceed two blocks to the first stop sign at Los Olivos Street. - Turn right onto Los Olivos Street and drive past Mission Santa Barbara. - Continue north toward the mountains to the stop sign at Foothill Road (Highway 192). - Turn right onto Foothill Road; proceed to the stop sign at Mission Canyon Road. - Turn left onto Mission Canyon Road. - Bear right at the fork of Mission Canyon Road and Tunnel Road. - Proceed about 1/2 mile; the Garden is on the left at 1212 Mission Canyon Road (look for a large sign at the entry to the parking lot.) - If you have any difficulty finding us, please call (805) 682-4726, ext. 101 for assistance.   Nearest Bus Stop: 22/weekends only
