Child Care Connections

Our mission is to bring child care, business, and community development sectors together to support and streamline the process of developing child care facilities in Orange County. Through our collaboration, we are uniquely, able to offer partnership building, centralized information of resources, training and advocacy.

Description:
Our vision is to be a strong, vibrant group of diverse community partners working together to ensure the availability of affordable, quality childcare for families in Orange County. Child Care Connections will create efficient and effective community support for the expansion of child care by capitalizing on the strengths of multiple organizations, and centralizing community information and resources.

History:
Initiated by Orange County United Way, as of 2003, this community collaborative aims to streamline the child care facility development and financing process in Orange County. Funded by the Affordable Building for Children's Development (ABCD) Constructing Connections a program of the Low Income Investment Fund with major funding from First 5 California to strengthen its mission.

Community partners include Children & Families Commission of Orange County, Children's Home Society of California, Orange County Child Care & Development Planning Council, The Public Law Center, The Kennedy Commission, Small Business Development Center, local planning departments and financial institutions.
