Women's Transitional Living Center, Inc. (WTLC)

The Women's Transitional Living Center, Inc. (WTLC) is a nonprofit, community-based organization committed to seeking solutions to end domestic violence. Our goal, in coordination with other community agencies and organizations, is to intervene in the cycle of violence. To meet the needs of the community we serve, WTLC provides comprehensive services through its emergency shelters, transitional shelters, and outreach programs. All aspects of the services provided focus on prevention, education, advocacy and support.

Description:
WTLC provides a compelete continuum of care for victims of domestic violence and human trafficking. Current programs include: Safety Net (an emergency motel shelter program); 45-day shelter; 90-day shelter (substance abuse/mental illness treatment); transitional shelter (up to two-year stay); outreach advocacy program (advocates stationed at local police departments and ride-along teams with police departments); and outreach education program (schools, at-risk groups, community groups, churches).

WTLC has the only shelter programs in Orange County that will accept victims with ongoing substance abuse and/or mental health problems, boys over the age of 13, emancipated youth, victims of human trafficking, male victims of domestic violence, and transgender females.

History:
Established in 1976, WTLC is the oldest shelter and treatment program for victims of domestic violence in Orange County. WTLC has provided shelter services to over 20,000 men, women and children and has provided outreach education to over 500,000 adults and children.
