Child Abuse Prevention Center
Agency Details:
The Child Abuse Prevention Center is committed to breaking the generational cycles of child abuse, teen pregnancy, and domestic violence in Orange County.
Description:
As a private, 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center provides family centered, culturally sensitive parent education and support to low-income and working poor families and their children. Our highly effective prevention programs address the social, environmental, and medical issues that can contribute to the incidence of child abuse and teen pregnancy such as medical distress, multiple births, teen parenting, children with special needs, poverty, a history of domestic violence, and/or a history of substance abuse.
The Prevention Center’s early intervention programs are unique in that a team of professionals go into clients’ homes to provide intensive parenting education and family support services. Prevention Center programs such as Teen Voices, Teen Choices provide educational and support services to young people throughout Orange County in educational programs and presentations. The goals for our prevention programs are to intervene early in the cycle of abuse, help families to access critical healthcare services, and ensure children are raised in a healthy, nurturing, and safe home environment.
One child at a time, one family at a time, we are improving the health and well being of families, building stronger communities, and preventing child abuse.
